Parked at the bottom of the forestry track. Relatively straightforward walk up gravel path, seeing a hare along the way. After a couple of switchbacks the track comes to a clearing, or turning area. Here the track continues North east. Spotted a lot of frogspawn, a nice sign that winter will in fact be coming to an end, although the short hailstorm did its best to dampen the idea. The high point with moss covered cairn, stone shelter and trig point is found by cutting through the service track in the forest. It is quite atmospheric, being concealed as it is. Tried to shorten the walk back by taking a vague path from the clearing, but turned back when it petered out thinking I was further off than I was. As it turned out on the return, I was actually very close to meeting the track if I'd continued.
