September begins in Spain with a sudden change in weather, heavy rain, wind and autumn temperatures. I approach the Sierra de Lugar in the afternoon thinking that a storm may surprise me, but there are significant gusts of wind that greet me there. I collect some ripe almonds to eat at the top and begin the route at a good pace. I see enough flowers for being at the end of a very dry summer. I also surprise a couple of vultures near the top that take flight when they see me. I walk along the ridge towards the top and barely hear the bells of a nearby village, perhaps they sound like a wedding. When I return, I decide to approach Peak 476 and take the last photos of the afternoon before returning home.
