From the side of the road next to Chilao Visitor Center entrance sign, I picked up a use trail overlooking Devils Canyon. The trail goes most of the way up the slope with little obstruction. On the upper slopes, I worked my way through downfall to find the way of least resistance before reaching the top. After a short visit I returned the way I came.
