Started the hike on “BP & L Rd” accessed from Aliso Canyon Road. The hike begins at a yellow vehicle gate, and there is no sign giving the name of the road (but it does on Google Maps). With the power lines overhead, it seems obvious that the road is for powerline maintenance. However, since no maintence was getting done, it made for a good trail. At about 1.5 miles in, there is a 4 way junction. Turn left at the junction and follow the road as it climbs along the slopes toward Peak 4440. As it flattens out at a saddle, I left the road and picked up a use trail to the summit. Great hike on a random and seldom visited peak on the desert edge of the Angeles National Forest.
