Started at Anthem East / Crescent Heights Ave. Headed up past AE HP to Arden Peak, traversed down the NE ridge to Peak 4055, down the east ridge (short class 3 obstacle) and up to The Fortress. Was planning to climb down the NE ridge of The Fortress but it looked pretty hairy, never been there before and didn't feel comfortable doing it solo so went back down the main chute on the west side and then up the ridge to Peak 3920 (more class 3 that can be avoided, one of the holds broke under my foot but thanks to 3 points of contact didn't fall!). All in all an AWESOME day hiking after a long lazy vacation in Brian Head. Beautiful weather. Recorded a low temp of around 25 at Peak 4055 and found a few small ice tanks on the rocks from yesterday's rain. Oh and a pretty cool lava rock arch coming down from Arden, unusual sights for McCullough! Just me on the trail, a mountain biker past me twice on the "pandemic" trail (is that new lol?) it's the one near the wash that leads to Fortress. And a small plane flying low and slow below the top of Rattlesnake. On the AE trail back to car looked over at Shadow Canyon and counted 13 cars at BM TH not including the parking lot that i couldn't see .... must have been crowded out there HAHA!
