Wanted a local morning hike that I could finish quickly but still get some good exercise. The Johnstone Peak hike seemed to check all the boxes. Wrapped up the hike by 10 AM. I also visited nearby Peak 2990, which is right off the dirt road and south of Johnstone Peak. Took a slightly overgrown use trail to reach the summit.
