Your recent hikes remind me of mine as I am recovering from cancer. Looking forward to getting back to the more significant mountains, but enjoying the hiking therapy for now.
Hiking is some of the best therapy around, both physically and mentally. That's excellent news that you survived your cancer scare and are on your way to recovery! You're doing great! Here's hoping that both of us will be standing on top of bigger and badder mountains before long.
This year's goals are Katahdin, Maine (via the Knife Edge) and Mount Adams, New Hampshire (via King Ravine) in September or October. Six months should be ample time for me to get back into the condition I need to be for those and other serious climbs. Next up is doing a lot of gravel riding on hilly state forest roads because the hiking and mountain biking trails in this region are usually too muddy in April.
