I was attempting the Duke of Kent, but to start the day I climbed up this little bump, just because it appears on the Peakery map. I bushwhacked up from the east, from the forest road. There is a new trail in the woods there, but I think it was made by loggers who are preparing to clear-cut a patch of woods in that area. There were signs on some trees indicating the boundary of the area to be logged. Anyway, when I got to the top, I was surprised to see construction equipment and a crew. They probably didn't see me, they were just west of the rock that is the pinnacle of this little bump. I don't know if they are building a structure or an access road for the logging.
I didn't get to the Duke, but I got up to the SE corner of the McClellan Butte trail. The bugs were out; lots of skeeters. I'd had enough, so I turned around there.
