The second time I've skied in September (first was the snowstorm in Calgary a few years back and a trip to Highwood). Was in Edmonton and circled back via Jasper and Icefields Parkway with skis in the box just in case it was possible. Came around the corner on the highway and Parker Ridge was a white bastion in the windshield that was screaming "ski me". Some snowboarders disembarking in the parking lot and it was clear that a 100ft walk and I would be in snow. With wife going for a run down the highway...I had 90 minutes. The skis hadn't been underfoot since May Long weekend on Sunwapta and it felt good to get the season going. Did a 300m ascent up to the ridge and took a powdery line down to the bush and skied the half covered bushes to the trail and a walk out. Sweeeeeet.
