From the high forest car park at the head of the Talybont Valley. Ascent of Allt Forgan was an effort, as I took a wrong turn and ended up on a forest and bracken thrash steep uphill. It got better towards the summit. Then decent to the valley road by tracks through the Talybont Forest. After a hike down the road to Abercynafon, I took a bridleway across the river and up through forest to a high track along the hill side. Out of the forest a steep ascent through sheep pasture got me to the bwlch on the ridge. From there it was a lovely hike west on sheep-cropped grass over Bryniau Gleision and Pant y Creigiau, and down to the car in evening light. Fine sunny weather, with a fresh NW wind. S olo.
