Terrific hike that began at the intersection of Forest Road 57 and Forest Road 187A, as FR 187A is very rough and I didn't feel comfortable driving my AWD Outback on it. Wanted to get the hike completed before noon as there was a forecast for rain/storms after then.

The 1960s era Fire Lookout Tower, the 1930s era LA-Amarillo aircraft directional building, and the outhouse are all in great shape. The Lookout dwelling could use a little work.

Fantastic views in all directions from the summit. Three geodetic survey discs found at/near the summit.
