Leading a party for Waymark, based at Trins. From Maria Waldrast. We went to Serlesjӧchl and then to the summit of Serles. There were some fixed ropes. The route is graded F-. Descent was made back to Serlesjӧchl. We went on a path that avoids the summit of Rote Wand and goes over the summit of Lӓmpermahdspitze. One member of the party and I went to the summit of Ober der Maurer, a short distance off the path. The route continues to the summit of Kesselspitze. The whole route involved a lot of scrambling with no fixed ropes. At its best it is on the ridge itself, quite exposed. At other places it goes down the side with some sections having bits of loose scree, needing care. We descended to Trins. Kalbenjoch was avoided by an indistinct path leaving path no 7 at about 2250m. This is a fine expedition, highly regarded by those that did it. It is harder than anything else done on the entire trip.
