Pre-Labor-Day 2012 turned out to be a great day to be in the North Country! I left late, and almost didn't decided to make the 2.5hr trip up. It also rained on/off on my drive, which almost had me turning around to go home. I'm glad I didn't. I started 'round 12:50 PM (about the latest I would ever want to start on a Sept day) w/ clear sunny skies for the rest of the day. A great hike all-in-all. It was quite steep at the top, but SO worth the view to the back sides of Garfield, Galehead, Lafayette, Lincoln... Many water crossing throughout (at least 10), and luckily we've had little precipitation, so all crossings were made with ease.
