"Went up via Corcoran Road entrance, up to Ruapane summit/Tirohanga track and across to the Pahuatea hut. Once at the hut we trekked to the Cone and back-it was very muddy. We left the hut the next morning via the Tahuanui track to the Kaniwhaniwha carpark. "Started 7 pm on a rainy day after a heavily rainy week, extremely wet ground. A certain lack of human frequentation on this track with some branches across the way. Otherwise short and easy trail. "Day 1- we went up the Billy goat track and set up camp at the Billy goat campsite and checked out the long trestle then hiked up the Hihi peak. Day 2- We packed up camp, took a small hike down to the the sleeping god canyon and then we went up to the pinnacles campsite. Here we set up camp had lunch and summited the pinnacles peak, came back down had dinner and you guessed it summited the pinnacles again for sunset. Day 3- we woke at 5am and summited pinnacles for a third time to see a cloudy sunrise and then came back down the mountain via the web creek track." — loganscott • Dec 29, 2022
