Left Huaraz at 4am and arrived at the base of Nevadi Matteo shortly after sunrise. Hiked for an hour and a half to the base of the glacier. There we took a break and geared up. Another 45min brought us to the peak where we had great views of Huascaran Sur (Peru's highest mountain), Chopicallqui, and others. After a while we headed down, took off our crampons, and back to the car. Then the long 2-3 hour drive back to Huaraz. Beautiful scenery the whole trip.
