Hiked up west side of ski area, following ski runs and roads to the top of the lifts. Stopped to visit site of plane crash. Fed a whisky jack at the summit, then followed trail down bluff and up to north peak. Came across trail leading up from HSCT - will try that route another day. Returned to first peak and followed trail down, this time through the trees on the east/south side of the mountain. My companion found junction to Hollyburn Peak. He continued down the trail to the Baden Powell, while I opted to return to ski runs for more sun. Came across mother bear and two cubs feeding at the bottom of the beginner ski area.
