My brother and I began the climb of our first Cali 14er from the Bunny Flat Trailhead at 10:45am, reaching Lake Helen at 3:15pm. We set up camp there, waking at 2am and departing at 3:30am. The weather was perfect, as were the snow conditions, and we reached the summit at 8:48am. Within about four hours we were back at Lake Helen. We quickly broke camp and headed back down to the trailhead, finishing at 3:45pm. For me, it was a long, strenuous hike, but VERY well worth it!
