Kate and I did the long haul up the road, up Mount Schaffer, kept going along Schaffer Ridge and then looked at the true summit, which Jones says is called Whitehead Mountain. It may very well be doable as a scramble, but looked a bit imposing and we didn't want to push our luck or daylight. It was a 32.2km day and I am tired. Larches were great, views were spectacular and I now have a few more peaks on my list after looking around...
