Warm weather and crappy (extremely soft) snow conditions made for a miserable post hole nightmare approach. Some postholing caught you by surprise as it was more than waist deep. Small avies were seen coming down the many couloirs of the ridge between Mono Pass and Mt Mills (the area above Ruby Lake). Also, small avies were witnessed coming down many couloirs in the Mt Mills and Mt Abbot areas. Unseen storm blew in from the west and caught us just before we headed back down. Tried to outrun heavy thunder and lightening but was caught before reaching Ruby Lake. From there on out we were in semi-heavy snow fall with deep postholing. Overall, very, very tough slog conditions.
