On May 28th, we chose Mt Glendowan down in Waterton as the first scramble of the season. The ascent was dry and a low cloud layer kept us cool as we enjoyed some fun moderate scrambling before punching through the clouds to the summit. From there we took Andrew Nugara's excellent suggestion and followed the connecting ridge to Newman Peak. Most of this route was straightforward, although some route-finding was required to find our way down through a large notch on the way down from Glendowan.
From the Newman-Avion col, there was quite a bit of snow remaining on the route down to and below Goat Lake.
