The hike up was enjoyable as always, with lots of vistas and lots of climbing to get your legs working.
The hike down Mount Olympia Road is miserable. There are two miles of steep, loose dirt and rocks—a serious fall hazard even with poles. The first of these miles is heavily overgrown, including poison oak. Every time I do this route, I think to myself that it's not worth it and that it would be better to skip Mount Olympia.
