Short hike on mixed ground - steps/‘ribboned ‘jungle’ path/tarmac paths on a hill with historical/military interest.

Start Kennedy Town MTR exit A

Turn left up Smithfield, then right on Lung Wah St and up the steps to Kennedy Service Reservoir Playground.

Ascend slope access steps in the far left corner **** slope works here as of Jan 2020 restrict access, so you might not be able to go this way if construction workers are around****

At the top of the steps follow the ribboned rough trail up which eventually joins an unmaintained Victorian era decaying concrete trail to a flat plateau top with telecom towers, barbecue area, playground and WWII gun battery to explore. Mount Davis has no less than three trig points to locate, all close together on the western edge; the standard cylindrical one, an older square one hidden in a bamboo thicket, plus a toppled cylindrical one dumped on the ground. Good views of High West and Victoria Peak.

Descend down the road until just after the Jockey Club youth hostel then turn off right down signposted steps all the way to Victoria Rd and Kennedy town to finish. Took some photos on “Instagram Pier” then hopped on a bus back.
