This was one of my favourites of the summer. The approach took us up from the Icefields Parkway via an excellent trail and numerous switchbacks to the beautiful Sunset Meadows area. We followed the trail a bit further before cutting across the meadows towards the approach gully. There was some light bushwhacking to find our way over to the creek in the gully and then we slogged our way up the seemingly endless gully to the col, at which point we had already ascended 1400m before the scrambling had even begun. We then scrambled up to the ridge, which had some recent snow on it and we cautiously worked our way through to the summit. On the way back we stumbled across the twin falls in Sunset Meadows, which was a super-scenic spot for a break.
