I can't believe how long it took me to get out to the high divide. Left the sol duc trailhead in the afternoon during the hottest part of the day. The flies were relentless but the walk was great. Got behind a herd of 15 goats around sol duc park and followed them up to Heart lake. Passed some friends on the last push to the divide trail who had gotten turned around on Carrie due to the heat and lack of water. Got up to my campsite at Bruce's roost, which had an amazing view of Mount Olympus. Set up and hung in my tent immediately due to a mosquito take over. Sean made it up to camp to join me after work around 10 and he didn't have a tent. Left camp at 6 and made our way to the Catwalk. Since Sean had climbed Carrie before, and due to his lack of sleep, he decided to just go climb Cat Peak. The Catwalk was real straight forward fun scrambling and got on the ridge to Carrie soon after. The route finding was easy and I was able to scramble above the last snowfield to the summit. One of the better views I have had in the Olympics and one I have wanted for awhile. Scrambled over to Cat Peak after.
