Objective Mount Begbie 2725m
Finally the opportunity to climb this classic mountain. The hike to the campsite is a steep 6km hike but well worth the grunt. Once at the campsite you can relax and suck up the spectacular views. At the time of our climb we had excellent glacier travel and sunny weather. Once the transition (moat) from the glacier to the the rock ledge the rope came out and one by one we carefully walked across the rock ledge. Once we reached the rocky ridge we climbed the huge rock blocks up to the Summit. On the descent we rappelled from the ledge to the glacier this was exciting :-) I was one happy girl to finally climb this beautiful mountain that I had stared at for so many years. Packed up and hiked down the steep trail back to the vehicles.
