Spent two glorious nights at the tastefully appointed James Lake Cabin, just off the Great Divide Trail on the way to Fording Pass. Weather Friday and early Saturday morning included a mixed bag of high winds, thunder, lightning and heavy rain. Awoke Saturday morning to discover what appeared to be more storm clouds moving southeast to northwest with winds gusting in excess of 60+ km/hr. Departed camp at around 9:30 a.m. after enjoying a nice slow breakfast. By the time I reached the slopes of Mt. Armstrong, storm clouds had begun to dissipate and the rest of the day was absolutely gorgeous with beautiful white cumulus clouds and lots of sunshine.
