I parked 1 km south of Craigengillan. Hiking north along the minor road to these houses, the stony track led me north to Moorbrock farm. Passing between the buildings, a forest track took me on around Green Hill, where I left it to climb on a grassy trail up to the summit plateau of Moorbrock Hill. I continued north over the secondary top, swinging NNE over Hog Hill to join a track contouring round the Clennoch glen. At its highest point I left the track to scale rough ground to the summit of Dugland, among wind turbines. Descending steeply to the track I followed it down to the remote Clennoch bothy - occupied today by a lone cyclist with whom I chatted for a while. My return route, as the sun sank, took me south for 3 km to where I had diverted to scale Moorbrock Hill and south back the way I had come to my car. Solo.

Very hot and sunny, with a strong south-easterly wind - warm and dry.

Red deer (females), heron, buzzard, skylarks and wheatear.
