Birthday trip with my friend Kathryn! The day before, we hiked from South Kaibab trailhead down to Skeleton Point and back up, so today was the easier Rim Trail. We quit at Pima Point because the wind got bad enough (~25mph gusts, ~15mph sustained) that it wasn't really enjoyable anymore, so we hopped the bus and went back to our hotel and then enjoyed a nice drink in the El Tovar Hotel cocktail lounge. The Rim Trail is always fun and gorgeous, and it's amazing to see the canyon change as you move along the wall. Even saw some elk on the rim trail and had to detour onto the road momentarily!
