From Parco Arco to the north, tried to first ascend this by following the path to the second olive grove. This petered out, so went back and ascended steeply from just after the first olive grove. Though steep, and there being loose rock underfoot, it was relatively easy to find a way up to the summit through the low bushes and grass growing over head height. At the summit there is a small copse of trees growing out of a pile of loose rock.
From here the idea was to walk down the nose of the hill SE to Roccagorga. And almost immediately the going got much tougher. I should have turned around but pressed on down increasing difficult terrain. Large boulders and vegetation covering the ground underfoot made for slow progress and a good risk of twisting an ankle. At some point old dry stone wall terracing, substantial and well built, appeared, even though the groves had clearly been abandoned many years previously. I was able to use this a bit to make my way down, but in other places this disappeared and was replaced by thick brush that forced me to retrace my steps several times to find clearings and lighter areas that I could push through. I eventually found another wall that took me to a more recently cultivated area, and then finally the road, a little to the north of Roccagorga. Very hard work and not to be repeated in a hurry.
