A long walk over six hours, partly because we had a companion who wasn't used to getting out in the hills. From Ospedaletto took the CAI path north, climbing steadily around the hill that protrudes from Tombelle and then along the side of that ridge. After the steel cross with sheet metal design there is a descent around a spur. Shortly after that is a bifurcation and we took the right path descending gradually into the valley, crossing the dry river bed, climbing slightly to the flat paths leading to the labyrinth of small glades that surround the open area of La Selva, with several wells. From here, made way through muddy paths in direction of the saddle between Gorgoglione and Palombara. From here, a tiring, seemingly infinite steady climb through brush and always under the trees to reach the top, which needed hacking through the undergrowth to reach properly. Then down the same way, through a myriad of small trails, cutting through bramble to the saddle, then up and down Palombara, encountering pretty much the same problem as the previous time up - namely, descending the steep side of this, rather than finding the path from the spur.
