Parking at Bwlch Glynmynydd, I took the bridleway south-west to its highest point. Leaving it there, I followed the fence on its northern side up onto the summit - a splendid viewpoint. Returning to the bridleway, I continued south through the forest to scale Bryn y Fedwen 405m/32m. I then retraced my steps north, leaving the bridleway again at its highest point for a pathless struggle east through deep heather for over a kilometre up to the summit of Llanerch yr Aur 437m/34m. A further heather struggle north followed to pick up the bridleway back down to the car. En route, I disturbed two owls hiding in the heather. A fine day of winter sunshine with a cold westerly breeze. Solo.
