Chester Rambling Club party by train from Chester, alighting at Prestatyn. Walked up main street and across A547. Where road starts to go uphill took footpath SSW, gradually ascending hill. Along top to Graig Fawr. Along road to Dyserth and up Moel Hiraddug (also known as Y Foel), where excavations of the iron age hill fort were taking place for the Ministry of Works. Continued to Mynydd y Cwm.
