My brother and I did a loop of five highpoints, the highlight being Mineral Mountain. We had to avoid the mine, so we looped west of it and did three highpoints, then headed down from the third to the road that goes south from the mine. We took the road for a little ways up the slope, then headed straight up the west face of the mountain. We did a little bit of climbing practice, and picked out a route up to the ridge. From there we got the summit, but could only stay a few minutes. I began to get attacked by a bee, and then another one, and got stung on the arm. We got down a little lower to try to enjoy some of the views, but another bee started to come after me. So we just kept descending, made our way to the highpoint north of Mineral Mt., then back to the car. We may try it again in the winter.
