Getting to the trailhead: Piedra Lumbre Road (not signed) is accessed off US-550, at coordinates: N35.8778, W106.9726. Good BLM road. The CDT crosses the road after about four miles; N35.8702, W107.0325. No signs beyond some trail markers nor is there an official parking area. Hike follows an easy to follow CDT for two miles which ascends the mesa. Leave the CDT once on top of the mesa, follow a road/bushwhack to the HP. For those wanting to explore, you can head into Arroyo Jarido which contains some Indian camp sites and springs: N35.8970, W107.0504 and N35.8994, W107.0511. Make sure to look up around the ceilings and exterior walls. Total ascent was about 1200' due to Arroyo Jarido.
