From Viewpoint car park near top of Cairn o' Mount. Solo. After reaching Whitehills and Hound Hillock continued to Meluncart. From Hound Hillock used track that comes in from the SE and which has seen much recent work, going NW on it. Came to a point where work on track ceases and continued to hut at NO618810. Followed track ENE from hut. This is marked by white poles at intervals. Found it went up to the summit of Meluncart and not as shown on OS 1:25,000 map. Perhaps there is a junction I didn't notice. Went E to locked gate where a track reaches the road and followed the road back to the car. Really nice weather with excellent views of Clachnaben and Mount Battock.
