With Alan Garnett and scouts from Abbey Methodist Church, Barrow. From Ambleside. On track to High Sweden Bridge. Kept to true left bank of Scandale Beck. Followed LH stream on true left bank; at fork took RH stream on true right bank. Steep grass, mostly snow covered. Short climb to fine cairn at Scandale Head and on to summit of Dove Crag. Returned over High Pike and Low Pike.
