This turned out to be really nice! I had been up Peak 2572 a few weeks ago & wanted to continue out the ridge the other way. I parked to the SSE on the Kodachrome Road & headed across the colorful badlands to the ridge. I picked a decent looking route up the ESE slopes & crested the ridge. I continued north across the ridge over Peak 2742 & numerous other bumps & peaklets that seemed just as high, all the way over to Kodachrome Peak. The ridge is quite narrow in some places, but the rock is very solid & stable & I enjoyed the hike very much. There are some big, old cairns up there & I saw one geocache as well. Also, keep an eye out for fossils. They are all over this ridge. I descended off the east side of Kodachrome Peak & alternated between a nice canyon & ridge. I made my way back to the Kodachrome Road & trotted 2 miles back to my Jeep. One could shorten this hike & go directly to the peak via my east descent ridge, but IMO, the ridge hike is well worth doing.
