Main focus was geocaching. Drove to the head of Marsden Valley. Walked up vehicle track to the weir and from there went up the 'Scout track' to the top of the Barnicoat Range. From here along a 4wd track towards Jenkins Hill and the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary fence. Once at the fence I followed the track down to the summit. Still a good view but not as good from years past - gorse and pines now obscure some of the view. Found all caches bar one. Returned the same way but down Involution MTB track to the car.
