Sierra Challenge Day 3 - Inter-red Peak & Red Chunk
Inter-red Peak and Red Chunk each count as 1/2 challenge peak, so participants needed to climb both for a full point.

Dylan Doblar wins his second stage with a time of 7min 40 seconds. It seems the only thing that will get in the way of him winning the yellow jersey is his work schedule. Sean King, Sean Reedy, Bob Burd, Kristine Swigart, Yumi Vielpeau, Sean Casserly, Tom Becht, Ken Yee and Andrew Shaper all finished in that general order. Chris Henry & Rob Houghton continued to Red Slate Mountain while Tom Grundy continued to Mt Mendenhall, as each try to get an edge on the polka-dot jersey. Mike Toffey and Ross Hill climbed Mt Morrison. Iris Ma and Jeff Moffat climbed Bloody Mountain and Laurel Mountain. Brian Wang and Scott King fished. Drew Doblar DNF.

Highlights of the day for me include a clear bear sighting and a Smatko summit register. Monsoon rain has eroded Convict Canyon significantly. Creek crossings were a challenge and lakes were full of sediment. 0.2 miles need to be added to total distance to correct GPS tracking error.
