"This peak is one of those where you can actually drive up and just walk to the high point. I prefer to work at least a bit for the peak, so I got dropped off on the lower section of the mountain where I ran straight up the ski slope to the high point. "Második Mátrakerülés során megtaláltuk Robogoval. Ilyenkor érdemes átmenni Tarnaszentmárián, mert a falu vége felé van egy ház, ahol isteni málnát lehet venni. Verpelétről Tarnaszentmária felé haladva, az út jobb oldalán látható a tanúhegyként álló, több millió éves, miocén korú vulkáni kúp, amely Verpeléti Várhegy néven ismeretes. Az alig 200 méter tengerszint feletti magasságú csonkakúp mintegy 60 méterre emelkedik ki környezetéből. Területe 30 ha. A XX. század első felében bányaművelés folyt a területen, ennek köszönhetően nagyszerűen feltárult a vulkáni csatornakitörés. A geológiai emlék 1975-től védelem alatt áll. A Verpeléti Várhegy andezit kúpja kivételes természeti értékként kezelendő, mivel növényzete és állatvilága is különleges, egyedi" — kitkat0123 • Jun 27, 2020

"Very nice ~12 km hike on the well maintained trail. Total height gain/loss is approx 700 meters. Plenty of small lakes and waterfalls on the way up. Because of tight trees not so much visible around, however trail goes up via very nice deciduous forest. Likely this is second highest peak in Hungary by prominence." — Deividas • Jul 26, 2013
