This route is not for the faint of heart or low on energy. The incline at the beginning is sustained and steep. This also ends up saving the hardest part of the descent for the last mile. Trekking poles are a lifesaver on this one. It's also a bit bushwhacky in the middle, and there's absolutely no shade throughout, but the feeling of accomplishment and the wide, grand views at the top of this one make it a great visit for strong hikers willing to venture a little farther from Boise. No summit register that I could find.
