6/19/23: From Butler Gulch with Paul. Heavy snow drifts on the upper trail. Decided to off-trail earlier than planned following tracks and avoiding a much longer snow traverse which would otherwise have avoided Hocus. Met Kevin G at the summit and he took our offer of tagging along up to the Divide ridge (good trail vibes!). Paul and I continued to Hassell Peak.
