We had come up to the Lakes again to grab a couple more peaks during the half term holidays and we were staying at the base of Dale Head at YHA Honister Hause. We woke to glorious sunshine with just a smatter of clouds and it was cold but not even a slight breeze. As we set off up Dale Head we could see a sprinkling of snow on the peaks across the valley but our route was clear. We reached the top just after 1pm and decided to carry on to Hindscarth. The ridge across proved a scary prospect for the youngest, it would seem that he does not have a head for heights and to be honest it is a long way down. However once across we made short work of the walk up to the Summit of Hindscarth had a chocolatey snack and returned the same way. A lovely walk with some great view views in all its autumn colours.
