Couple things with this one

First, be VERY careful of the mountain lion that apparently lives right under the summit register next to the downed tree where the bird shit is. You’ll know when you’re up there . You’ll see the rockpile on your way up, go to the LEFT of it to avoid having to pass that cave and get an angry hiss like I did , or maybe worse .

Second, the register is at the rockpile , not at the true summit which is not very easy to find as it is all just flat up there . The register contained some of the more interesting things I’ve seen in a summit reg, like a few earrings , some jewelry, and a pin.

The roads are decent but a little confusing there a few turns to make so make sure to have track loaded for directions

All this for a butte that has the honorable distinction of being the 39th most prominent peak in Oregon. This and Odell(much better and easier) make for a nice easy two pack of prominence peaks without much work
