I chose Guadalupe Peak because it was the highest point in Texas and I had just started hiking with my new boyfriend Gregg. It was beautiful. We also hiked other trails in the Guadalupe Mountains during our camping trip there. The campsites were beautiful. Carlsbad Caverns are just down the road. I highly recommend this to someon wanting to start doing Summits. It wasn't that difficult with a well maintained trail.
