Solo. From the parking place west of Commondale at NZ656105 along rights of way NW until very close to summit. Took the variations more to the NE side where there were variations. Stood on rock at highest point and visited the two ancient cairns as well. On descent observed convoy of 17 4WD descending on nearby track. Only a very small muddy bit not far from start.
