Part of an 11-12 mile trail run. Using the Alltrails app, I was able to follow the easiest route off-trail up the mountain. Still quite steep and challenging, but absolutely worth it. Winter views abound of Roanoke Valley, Great Valley, and surrounding mountains such as Tinker and McAfee. I took a much sharper route down and found myself sledding on the thick leaf cover until I reunited with the AT.
