First day of a 4 day break in the Yorkshire Dales. Started from Starbotton in Wharfedale, crossed the river and walked upstream for over 2 miles to Buckden. Here we took the zig zag path above redmire farm, through some sheep pens, then out onto the open limestone hillside. We climbed upon to the broad ridge and onto the summit cairn. We then walked SW along the broad ridge for just under 2miles and then dropped steeply back into Wharfedale and back to Starbotton.
