Had to make my "annual pilgrimage" up to the summit of Evitt's Mountain while I camped at Rocky Gap. A thunderstorm blew up while I was on the ridge; one close lightning strike was a bit hair-raising, but other than that I just got soaked (had to put my camera away early, and it got so bad I had to put the cell phone away too). This is my "traditional" hike while camping at Rocky Gap State Park in Flinstone, MD. My family and I have been camping there since 1997. Considering my current base camp is Las Vegas, it's a bit of a trek, but always worth it. :) Unfortunately the area had been on the receiving end of 0.5-1.0" rain PER DAY for the week or two leading up to my visit, so there was a LOT of water on the trail - it was a swampy mess.
