Yesterday was a big day; I'm still a bit tired. In 13.27 miles I picked up 7 of these Issaquah Alps lovelies. First up was Beaver Hill, then Sally’s Summit and on to East Tiger Mountain along with every Mountain biker in the region (I was told it was Mountain Bike opening day yesterday for this part of Tiger Mountain). Everybody was having a great time.

After Sally’s Summit, I climbed up the NW route of Crossover Road #5500 and then turned left at the East Tiger Summit trail. I loved the trail, but I might recommend skipping this route if you don’t want to get slammed by a mountain biker. I’m not complaining… in fact, I wanted a mountain bike at just that moment. Everyone was having a great time tearing down that trail. Very cool, but watch out if you’re on foot. Alternatively you can just follow the road up to the peak. In any case, the view from the top was pretty amazing. Our very dear Mount Rainier was in full glory yesterday: very impressive.

Specific to East Tiger, I have to say the summit climb leaves a bit to be desired… you’re on a road. But the view makes up for it. And when I left for the next peak I really enjoyed the forested trails as I went NNE and then back SW along the East Tiger Re-Route trail.

Next on the peak list was Middle Tiger Mountain.
